/cars is the universal inventory page — every car you’ve added, regardless of status, sourcing, or currency, in one filterable list. Most traders spend more time here than anywhere else.
Default columns
Section titled “Default columns”| Column | Notes |

| Car code | Auto-generated, unique per company, used in URLs and references. |
| Purchase date | When you bought it (or the conversion date if migrated). |
| Make / Model / Year | Catalog + free-text. |
| Mileage | Stored in km. |
| VIN | Unique per company (dedup enforced). |
| Container | The container or RORO trip the car is on, if any. |
| Location | Yard / warehouse / port slot — see Locations. |
| Status | Display-only badge; change via named actions (cancel, restore, ship, sell). |
| Auction price | Native purchase price. |
| Landed cost | Cumulative in your home currency. |
| Sale price | The price you sold for, if sold. |
Column visibility and order are per-view. Open View config to reorder via drag-and-drop or to hide columns the current view doesn’t need.
Inline edits
Section titled “Inline edits”Pencil cells (year, VIN, seller name) and dropdowns (location) edit directly in the row. Edits are gated on the cars:edit permission, not cars:write. Bulk operations (Add costs, Change location, Publish to marketplace) require selecting rows via the checkbox in the leftmost column.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”The top bar carries:
- Search — make/model/VIN free-text.
- Status filter — multi-select chips.
- View tabs — admin-curated saved views, each with its own filter + visible columns + per-role visibility. See Saved views.
- Legacy group filter — free-text chip matching
legacyGroupName(only relevant if you migrated cars grouped by inventory batch).
Mobile
Section titled “Mobile”On phones, the list collapses to a card-per-car layout with a fixed 4-slot grid (Landed Cost / Sale Price / Location / Container). The action toolbar and view tabs auto-hide on scroll-down and re-appear on scroll-up.
